The closest cities to Abbotsford BC include Maple Ridge, Mission, Langley, and Chilliwack.

Abbotsford International Air Show is Canada’s largest air show and occurs every year at the Abbotsford International Airport, mostly in the month of August.

Community within Abbotsford city by transit is quite good. Commuting to Abbotsford by transit from Greater Vancouver: Taking the Expo Line SkyTrain from Vancouver, Burnaby or New Westminster to Surrey Central Station will connect you to multiple bus lines going to the Carvolth Exchange in Langley. The Fraser Valley Express bus will take you from there to Highstreet Shopping Centre and the McCallum Park and Ride station.

 

Alternatively, the West Coast Express runs Monday to Friday from Downtown Vancouver to Mission with stops along the way.

 

As of now, there is no SkyTrain service connected to Abbotsford.

Abbotsford is home to 9 unique neighborhoods, some of the top neighborhoods with most of the new home developments are Abbotsford East, Abbotsford West, and Central Abbotsford. Abbotsford News Report in 2023, the city issued license for 1179 new residential units in that year, which is up compared to 621 permits in the previous year, and by the mid-July of 2024, an addition of 1300 multi-family residential units are pending permit.
